UpClinic is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Health Care Act 2008 (SA).

We collect personal and health information that is necessary to provide you with safe, high-quality healthcare. This may include:
Name, address, date of birth, and contact details
Medical history and presenting condition
Referrals, reports, test results, and correspondence from your GP or other health providers
Payment details and health fund information
Whenever possible, information is collected directly from you. Sometimes we may receive information from your GP, specialist, or other treating practitioners with your consent.
2. Use and Disclosure
Your information is used primarily to:
Provide, manage, and coordinate your healthcare
Communicate with other members of your healthcare team (e.g. GP, specialists, allied health providers)
Maintain administrative and billing records
Meet legal and regulatory obligations (e.g. Medicare, health insurers)
We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent unless required by law, such as in cases of serious threat to life, health, or safety.
3. Storage and Security
Your records are stored securely in both digital and physical formats. We use encrypted software systems and password protection to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Only authorised staff involved in your care have access to your records.
4. Access and Correction
You have the right to request access to your health records or ask for corrections if information is inaccurate or incomplete. Requests should be made in writing to the Practice Manager at UpClinic.
5. Data Retention
We are legally required to retain your health records for at least seven (7) years after your last contact, or until a child reaches 25 years of age.
